Helen Gulfan

Director, Women's Ministries | Shepherdess International

Bio

Helen Bocala-Gulfan is the Womens’ Ministries (WM)Director and the Shepherdess international (SI)Coordinator of the Southern Asia-Pacific Division (SSD) since 2005.

A graduate of Bachelor of Science in Commerce, major in Accounting, Gulfan had a meaningful experience in the field of accounting and finance. She served our hospitals in Bacolod Sanitarium and Hospital (now Bacolod Adventist Medical Center) and H.W. Miller Sanitarium and Hospital (now Adventist Hospital-Cebu). Her dedication and performance towards the Lord’s work led to her to be called in East Visayan Conference and in the Central Philippine Union Conference headquarters. She functioned as the SI Coordinator, Children’s and Women’s Ministries Director of East Visayan Conference.

Gulfan passions to uphold, encourage, and challenge women in their pilgrimage as disciples of Jesus Christ and to nurture clergy spouses and pastors’ kids (PK’s).

She was married to Pastor Alberto Gulfan Jr., former and now deceased President of the Southern Asia-Pacific Division. Their marriage was blessed with three grown-up children and five lovely and active grandchildren.

She firmly believes that Christ’s return will be hastened if all women are revived and transformed by the Holy Spirit and committed to unite efforts with men, youth and children in sharing the gospel using their spiritual gifts for God’s honor and glory.

Her greatest satisfaction is when she gives Bible studies and they accept each truth presented and finally accept Jesus as their personal Savior. She loves sports especially lawn tennis, badminton and table tennis. Walking is her regular exercise. She enjoys gardening. She refers to it as her daily object lesson as she draws lessons from it.

Her latest devotional; the cultivation of soil, nurturing the plant, pulling out weeds, the connection of branches to the trunk, water is important to its growth and finally the bearing of much fruit to bless people.
